EgyptAir Plans Fleet Expansion to 125 Aircraft by 2030 Amid Strong Market Conditions
EgyptAir has announced plans to expand its fleet to 125 aircraft by 2030, an increase from its previous target of 97. This decision was revealed by Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, during the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro. The expansion is driven by strong financial performance, improved aircraft availability, and the anticipated expansion of Cairo International Airport within the next five years. EgyptAir's growth is also supported by the robust tourism and travel market in Egypt. Despite regional conflicts, the airline has maintained profitability and plans to continue this trend. The company is currently in discussions with lessors to secure additional aircraft, including Boeing 737-8s and Airbus A350-900s, to meet its expansion goals.
