PT Organics Recalls Fruit Purée Pouches Due to Plastic Contamination Risk
PT Organics Limited has initiated a voluntary recall of certain Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry fruit purée pouches. These products, sold at Target, Kroger, and Meijer stores nationwide, may contain strands of soft, food-grade plastic due to a packaging defect. The recall, announced by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), affects 4-ounce pouches sold between March 6 and July 13. The issue was identified after the company's packaging supplier recalled a production run of defective pouches. PT Organics confirmed that the plastic contamination is linked to the pouch packaging itself, not the fruit purée. Consumers are advised to check for specific barcodes and best-by dates to identify the recalled products. No injuries have been reported, and the company advises customers to dispose of the affected pouches or return them for a refund.
