Ukraine to Deploy 25,000 Ground Robots to Replace Frontline Soldiers
Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has announced plans to contract 25,000 ground robotic systems in the first half of 2026, doubling the number procured in 2025. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that the goal is for 100% of frontline logistics to be performed by robotic systems. The Defense Procurement Agency has signed 19 contracts with manufacturers worth 11 billion UAH. The ministry is also establishing a competence center for ground robotic systems to coordinate deployment with the Armed Forces. This initiative is part of a broader effort to scale robotic support across the battlefield, with the sector expanding to include over 280 companies and 550 active solutions since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
