Generac Recalls Portable Generators Due to Fire Risk
Generac Power Systems has issued a recall for its portable generators sold between May 2025 and February 2026 due to a risk of gas leaks from the carburetor, posing a fire hazard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported 114 incidents of gas leaks, though no injuries have been reported. The recall affects nearly 150,000 units sold at major retailers like Costco, Lowe's, and Home Depot across the U.S., including New York. Customers are advised to stop using the generators and check if their serial numbers are included in the recall. Affected units can be returned for a free repair or a full refund.
