Upper Arlington Library Workers Ratify First Contract with 3% Annual Raises and Improved Benefits
Library workers at the Upper Arlington Public Library have successfully ratified their first collective bargaining agreement. The contract, which took effect on April 7, 2026, includes a 3% annual raise over three years, six weeks of paid parental leave, and paid leave for employees assaulted at work. Additionally, the agreement increases vacation and sick time for part-time workers and offers tuition reimbursement for those pursuing a master's degree in library science. The union, represented by the Ohio Federation of Teachers, includes 85 to 90 workers. This development marks Upper Arlington as the fifth local union to finalize such a contract, joining others in Worthington, Grandview Heights, Pickerington, and Delaware County.
