MTSU Expands Animation Program with New BFA and BA Degree Options
Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) has expanded its Animation program by introducing two new degree pathways: a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Animation and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Animation. This transition from a single Bachelor of Science degree aims to better align with students' individual interests and career aspirations. The BFA is designed for students pursuing careers in animation and entertainment, covering areas like 3D animation, 2D animation, visual effects, and motion graphics. The BA offers greater flexibility, allowing students to combine animation with other academic disciplines. According to Professor and Program Coordinator Kevin McNulty, this expansion reflects over a decade of program growth and development, driven by the evolving nature of the animation field and the need to offer relevant curriculum and industry connections.
