Dense Fog Advisory and Heavy Rain for Chicago
Chicago began Tuesday under a dense fog advisory, affecting counties to the north and west through 10 a.m. The National Weather Service warned of rapidly changing visibility during the morning commute. After the fog lifts, skies are expected to be partly cloudy with highs reaching the mid-70s (23-24°C). Overnight, showers will move in from the west, spreading across the area by 5 a.m. Wednesday. Rainfall is expected to be heavy at times, with additional rounds of precipitation continuing through Thursday and Friday. Meteorologist Iisha Scott from NBC 5 Storm Team noted that some areas could experience localized flooding, with rainfall totals exceeding three inches. Conditions are expected to improve by the weekend, with drier weather and cooler temperatures in the mid-60s (18-19°C).
