India Sees Massive Rain Sweep: IMD Issues Alerts For 22 States As Monsoon Fully Revives
India is currently experiencing a robust revival of its monsoon season, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue rain alerts for 22 states. Following a brief interlude, the monsoon has returned with full force, bringing with it the potential for significant weather events. Extremely heavy rainfall is anticipated in isolated areas of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand today and tomorrow. Furthermore, states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and the entire Northeast region are bracing for heavy to very heavy rainfall. In addition to the intense precipitation, wind speeds are expected to reach up to 60 kmph, increasing the risk of waterlogging in various parts of the country. Active monsoon conditions are predicted to dominate Northwest India for the next 6 to 7 days, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance and preparedness across these regions.
