Rhode Island Congressional Delegation Secures $1.9 Million for URI Cybersecurity Scholarship Program
The Rhode Island Congressional Delegation, including U.S. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed, and Representatives Seth Magaziner and Gabe Amo, announced $1.9 million in federal funding for the University of Rhode Island (URI). This funding, awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), will support scholarships for high-achieving students with limited financial means pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity. The initiative aims to address the growing need for a stronger cybersecurity workforce in the face of evolving cyber threats and the increased adoption of AI technologies.
