Boy's Pale Skin Leads to Cancer Diagnosis, Highlights Importance of Awareness
Kit Thomson, a nine-year-old boy from Perthshire, Scotland, was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a type of kidney cancer, after his pale skin was initially dismissed as a Scottish trait. His parents, Johnny Agnew and Alice Warren, noticed his unusually pale complexion and a puffy stomach, which were initially attributed to a urinary tract infection. However, further medical investigation revealed a 17cm cancerous tumor. Kit has since undergone chemotherapy and surgery, and continues to receive treatment. His case underscores the importance of seeking second opinions and being vigilant about unusual health symptoms.
