Hollywood Screenwriter William Hasley Dies During Hike in Runyon Canyon
William Hasley, a 78-year-old Hollywood screenwriter and friend of Caitlyn Jenner, has been identified as the hiker who died from a medical emergency in Runyon Canyon. Hasley, known for his work on shows like 'The Smurfs' and 'Murder, She Wrote,' was also a screenwriting teacher at UCLA Extension. He was found in grave condition off Nichols Canyon Road and was declared dead shortly after paramedics arrived. Hasley's death highlights the risks associated with hiking, especially for older individuals, and the importance of being prepared for medical emergencies in remote areas.
