Congresswoman April McClain Delaney, alongside Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks, announced over $560,000 in federal funding for workforce development and supportive housing in Western Maryland. The funds, provided by the Appalachian Regional Commission, aim to enhance educational opportunities, workforce training, and housing support for adults recovering from mental illness or with developmental disabilities. Key allocations include $312,851 for the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science's Appalachian Lab, $200,000 for Archway Station, Inc., and $50,000 for Garrett College. These investments are intended to bolster the region's economic and social infrastructure.
