San Francisco Opens Affordable Housing at Former Haight Street McDonald's Site
San Francisco has officially opened a new affordable housing development at the site of a former McDonald's on Haight Street. The project, located at 730 Stanyan St., features 160 affordable units, with some reserved for families and transitional-aged youth who have experienced homelessness. The development, which took nine years and four mayoral administrations to complete, is part of the city's efforts to address the housing crisis. Residents were selected through a lottery system, and the project was a collaboration between local housing advocacy groups.
