Egis Appoints Shakir Khaja as Aviation Sector Director for Europe and Africa
Egis has announced the appointment of Shakir Khaja as the new aviation sector director for Europe and Africa. Khaja brings over 25 years of experience in the international aviation industry, having previously led significant programs at major airports such as Heathrow, London City Airport, and Fraport Greece. Prior to joining Egis, he served as a senior director for the aviation sector at Arcadis and is a board member of the British Aviation Group. In his new role, Khaja will work closely with airport clients and stakeholders to leverage Egis's capabilities in delivering impactful solutions. His focus will be on supporting long-term programs that address expansion, operational performance, sustainability, and capacity optimization. This appointment is part of Egis's broader strategy to expand its presence in the UK and Irish airport sectors, responding to increasing passenger demand, decarbonization requirements, and the need to optimize existing infrastructure.
