Worker Dies in Incident at Sacramento Costco Construction Site
A tragic incident occurred at a Costco construction site in Sacramento, where a 37-year-old worker died after being rescued from an underground tank. The incident took place on September 8, 2025, at a gas station undergoing renovations. Emergency crews responded to reports of a worker trapped inside a three- to four-foot underground cylinder. The worker, identified as Ashkan M. from Berkeley, was believed to have entered the tank to clean it when he experienced a medical emergency, possibly due to inhaling fumes. Despite rescue efforts and transportation to a hospital, the worker succumbed to his injuries.
