South Korean Students Detained for Alleged Break-In at US Military Base
Eight South Korean students were detained for allegedly breaking into the Osan Air Base, a United States military installation near Seoul, while shouting anti-U.S. slogans. The students, comprising four males and four females, were apprehended by U.S. military personnel and later handed over to South Korean authorities. They are being investigated under a law protecting military installations in South Korea. The students reportedly shouted slogans such as 'Let’s smash U.S. 7th Air Force.' The Korean Progressive University Student Union claimed responsibility, stating the protest was against the U.S. military's opposition to a South Korean semiconductor project.
