Delaware Governor Matt Meyer Participates in Global Constitution Day Mock Trial Program
Delaware Governor Matt Meyer is participating in an expanded online mock trial program for third-graders as part of Constitution Day celebrations. This year, the program, initiated by District Judge Robert Wonnell, will involve over 45,000 third-graders from 47 states, along with more than 70 third-grade classes from military bases across four continents. Governor Meyer, alongside Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, will provide video presentations for the students. This marks an increase in participation from the previous year, where Meyer and Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch provided presentations to 17,000 third-graders from 14 states. The program aims to educate young students about the U.S. court system and the Constitution, fulfilling a U.S. law requiring government officials to offer educational opportunities on Constitution and Citizenship days.
