Steamboat Springs Mourns Loss of Orchestra Founder Mary Beth Norris, Celebrating Her Musical Legacy
Mary Beth Norris, a beloved figure in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and the founder of the town's community orchestra, has passed away at the age of 75. Norris was instrumental in fostering a love for classical music in the small town, establishing a community orchestra in 1991 with just 13 volunteer musicians. Her passion for music and community engagement left a lasting impact, as she actively recruited musicians and inspired many, including Teresa Steffen Greenlee, the orchestra's concertmaster.
