Former Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin Launches Conservative Policy Group to Promote Education Tax Credit
Former Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced the formation of a new conservative policy group named Empowering America's Parents. This initiative marks Youngkin's first significant political move since leaving office in January. The group's primary focus is to increase awareness and adoption of the Education Freedom Tax Credit, a federal scholarship tax credit already implemented in 30 states. Youngkin's organization plans to launch a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign targeting the 20 states that have yet to adopt the program, including key battleground states such as Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. The tax credit program, set to officially launch in January 2027, allows taxpayers to donate up to $1,700 to scholarship-granting organizations and receive a federal income tax credit. The initiative aims to support scholarships for K-12 education tuition expenses.
