International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions Holds Meetings in Washington, D.C. to Strengthen Global Audit Capacity
The International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) recently held key meetings in Washington, D.C., chaired by Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit (GCA). These meetings included the 23rd session of the Policy, Finance, and Administration Committee (PFAC) and the 19th meeting of the INTOSAI Donor Steering Committee (IDSC). The IDSC meeting, co-chaired by Dr. Alangari and the World Bank, focused on empowering Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) and reinforcing their independence, particularly in developing nations. Discussions covered the strategic direction of the committee, updates on the Global SAI Accountability Initiative (GSAI), and findings from the Global SAI Independence Project. The collaboration with the World Bank underscores a sustained partnership aimed at providing essential support to SAIs worldwide.
