Iceye Launches Six SAR Satellites to Enhance Global Surveillance Capabilities
Iceye, a company specializing in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology, has successfully launched six new SAR satellites into orbit. The launch took place on March 30, 2026, from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, utilizing a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. These satellites are part of Iceye's commercial constellation and are intended to support various national missions. Specifically, they will serve the Polish Armed Forces' MikroSAR program and the CTI Aeroespacial consortium, which includes the Portuguese Air Force and other partners. The satellites are equipped with 25 cm resolution capabilities, enhancing their ability to provide detailed surveillance data. This launch is part of a broader initiative to expand Iceye's satellite network, which aims to deliver high-quality, reliable intelligence for defense and national security purposes.
