Cape Town International Airport Reopens Runway After Disabled Plane Causes Disruptions
Cape Town International Airport experienced significant disruptions due to a Kenya Airways aircraft suffering a tyre burst upon landing, which left the plane disabled on the main runway. This incident led to the diversion of all incoming flights to other airports and prevented international flights from departing. The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) announced that after the successful recovery of the aircraft and completion of safety inspections, the runway was reopened, and flight operations resumed. However, airlines are still working to recover their schedules, and some flights may continue to experience delays.
