Natrona County Commissioners Advance Cell Tower Variance Amid Neighborhood Opposition
Natrona County commissioners in Wyoming recently addressed a proposed 80-foot cell tower on Morado Drive, which has generated neighborhood pushback due to concerns over setbacks and visual impacts. SAC Wireless, on behalf of Union Wireless, applied for a conditional use permit and a variance to construct an 80-foot monopole at 700 Morado Drive. This new pole is intended to replace an existing 65-foot wood-laminate pole as part of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) 'Rip and Replace' program, and it would also provide space for two additional carriers. The company requested a waiver for standard 98-foot setback requirements, as the property line is 14 feet short on the southwest side and 1.5 feet short on the east.
