Buttermilk Channel Team Plans New Restaurant in Crown Heights
The team behind the popular Brooklyn restaurant Buttermilk Channel is planning to open a new dining establishment in Crown Heights. Doug Crowell, the owner of Buttermilk Channel, which closed in late 2024, is collaborating with Ryan Angulo, his partner at French Louie, to launch this new venture. The restaurant is set to occupy the former Mayfield space at 688 Franklin Avenue. This development follows Crowell's previous focus on his Boerum Hill bistro, French Louie, after the closure of Buttermilk Channel. The new restaurant is part of a broader trend of culinary expansion in the Crown Heights area, which is also seeing other new food establishments and community activities.
