Crypto PACs Invest $1.5 Million in U.S. State Races Following Primary Loss
Two groups affiliated with the cryptocurrency-backed political action committee Fairshake have disclosed spending over $1.5 million on media to support candidates in Florida, Alaska, and Wyoming. This investment follows a primary loss in Michigan. The PACs, Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress, have focused their spending on candidates who have supported the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act. In Alaska, the PAC spent over $500,000 supporting Representative Nick Begich, while similar amounts were spent on Sydney Gruters in Florida and Harriet Hageman in Wyoming. These expenditures are part of a broader strategy by Fairshake to influence U.S. elections, having spent over $170 million in the 2024 election cycle.
