Lost 1943 Novel Predicting the Holocaust Recovered and Translated
Friedrich Torberg's 1943 novel 'Mein ist die Rache' ('Vengeance is Mine'), which predicted the Holocaust, has been recovered and translated into English for the first time. Written during World War II, the novel depicts life in a German concentration camp and explores themes of survival and moral dilemmas faced by Jewish prisoners. Originally published by a small German exile press in Los Angeles, the book fell into obscurity after limited circulation. The new translation by Boiler House Press aims to bring Torberg's work to a wider audience, highlighting its historical and literary significance.
