Build-A-Bear Recalls 36,000 Bears Due to Choking Hazard
Build-A-Bear Workshop has issued a recall for approximately 36,000 Heartwarming Hugs weighted plush bears in the United States and 520 in Canada. The recall, announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is due to a potential choking hazard caused by the detachment of the zipper slider on the bear's side pouch. This pouch contains a heart filled with ceramic beads, which can be heated or cooled. The affected bears, sold between January and March 2026, are identifiable by model number 034464. Consumers are advised to stop using the bears and return them for a refund or gift card.
