Investigators Examine Former Spa Hotel Fire in Bad Lauterberg Linked to 'Reichsbürger' Group
A former spa hotel in Bad Lauterberg, Germany, which was previously acquired by the 'Reichsbürger' group 'Königreich Deutschland' (Kingdom of Germany), caught fire on Monday night. The police are investigating the incident, as arson cannot be ruled out. The building, located at Wiesenbeker Teich, suffered significant damage, with parts of it collapsing or being at risk of collapse. Firefighters were alerted just before 4 AM and found the middle section of the building fully engulfed in flames. Due to the structural instability, emergency personnel could not enter the building, and up to 150 firefighters were on site at one point. Investigators are currently examining the scene, and a specialized dog trained to detect accelerants may be deployed if deemed safe. Authorities are also seeking witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious around 3:50 AM on Monday.
