UNC and Virginia Tech to Host New Defense Leadership Fellowship
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Virginia Tech have been selected to host a new fellowship program for senior military officers, following the Department of Defense's decision to end partnerships with certain private universities. This program, known as the Senior Service College Fellowship, aims to develop leadership skills among senior military personnel. The decision to partner with these public universities comes after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth criticized previous partner institutions, such as Harvard and MIT, for fostering what he described as 'woke breeding grounds of toxic indoctrination.'
