Southern California Faces Hottest Heat Wave of the Year
Southern California is bracing for its most intense heat wave of the year, with temperatures expected to soar above 100°F (37.8°C) in many areas. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the heat wave will bring oppressive conditions, including high humidity and minimal nighttime cooling. Inland areas such as the Inland Empire and parts of San Diego County's interior valleys could see temperatures exceeding 100°F (37.8°C), while desert regions may surpass 110°F (43.3°C). Coastal areas, including downtown Los Angeles, are also expected to experience significant heat, with highs reaching 92°F (33.3°C). A heat advisory is in effect for much of the region, spanning Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties.
