Green Bay's Response to Duplicate Ballot Investigation Criticized as Inadequate
The City of Green Bay's handling of an investigation by the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) into the issuance of duplicate absentee ballots has been criticized by complainant Theresa Sipes. The city attributed the errors to Clerk Celestine Jeffreys, who is currently on administrative leave. Sipes' lawyer, Nicholas Boerke, expressed dissatisfaction with the city's response, stating it lacked accountability and failed to identify the number of affected voters. Boerke urged the WEC to subpoena records and take sworn testimony to ensure election integrity.
