Tasmanian Devil Found Alive After Escaping Australian Park
A Tasmanian devil named Mary, who had been missing from Paradise Country in Australia, was found alive after escaping her enclosure. The 2-year-old marsupial managed to leap over a 4.6-foot barrier, an unusual feat for the species. Her disappearance was noted in early June, and she was located two weeks later in dense bushland, less than 1.2 miles from where she escaped. The search involved drone tracking, thermal imaging, and field searches. Mary was brought to the park for conservation efforts, as Tasmanian devils are endangered and not found in the wild on mainland Australia. Upon her recovery, she was in an unstable condition and required veterinary care.
