High Rip Current Risk for Palm Beach County Beaches
A high-risk rip current situation is developing along the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches, particularly affecting Palm Beach County beaches. Northerly winds and increasing swell are driving substantial energy toward the shoreline, creating hazardous conditions classified as high risk by the National Weather Service. These conditions are expected to begin late tonight and persist through the weekend. Additionally, the timing coincides with the Harvest full moon and King Tide cycle, which will result in higher-than-normal tides and minor coastal flooding in low-lying areas. Large breaking waves, potentially reaching 7 to 8 feet, will further exacerbate the danger, making swimming and other coastal activities particularly risky.
