Gfai Tech Unveils HydroVision SeaStar24 for Enhanced Underwater Surveillance
At the Undersea Defence Technologies (UDT) 2026 event in London, German company Gfai Tech introduced its HydroVision SeaStar24 passive underwater acoustic imaging system. Designed for underwater surveillance, the system uses a 24-channel hydrophone array with digital beamforming and phase coherent signal processing to transform underwater sound into spatial 2D and 3D visualizations. Unlike traditional systems that emit acoustic signals, HydroVision SeaStar24 captures existing underwater sounds to create real-time visualizations, aiding in the detection of human movement, equipment signatures, and vessel activities. This passive operation allows for discreet monitoring, making it suitable for protecting ports and critical undersea infrastructure.
