The Gambia's Fintech Landscape Shows Promise Amidst Challenges
The Gambia is emerging as a promising frontier for fintech in Africa, driven by digital transformation and mobile-first financial services. Despite its small fintech ecosystem, efforts are underway to modernize payment systems and improve financial inclusion. The Central Bank of The Gambia is actively working to enhance digital financial services, although challenges such as limited banking penetration and financial literacy persist. Mobile money services are gaining traction, supported by telecom operators and international development organizations.
