76-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Apopka Vineland Road in Orange County
A 76-year-old Orlando man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Apopka Vineland Road in Orange County, Florida, on Monday morning. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the man was walking across the road outside of a marked crosswalk near the intersection of Apopka Vineland Road and Palm Parkway when he was struck by a Nissan Altima. The impact threw him into the outside lane, where he was then hit by a Nissan Cube and a third, unidentified vehicle, possibly a white SUV, which fled the scene. The driver of the Nissan Cube initially left but later returned. The pedestrian was transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The drivers of the Altima and Cube were not injured. FHP is investigating the incident and is seeking information about the third vehicle.
