Heavy Rain Renews Flood Threat Across Texas, South
More than 60 million people across Texas and the South face renewed flash flood risks this week as multiple storm systems bring days of heavy rain. Saturated soils from recent downpours are increasing the danger of flooding, especially in parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and the Southeast. Areas including Dallas, Austin, Houston, and New Orleans remain under flood threat through Friday. Officials reported flood rescues in Texas and deadly flooding in Mississippi, while North Carolina crews responded to inundated roads and flash flooding emergencies.
