Mammoth Mountain Extends Ski Season Due to Late-Season Snowfall
Mammoth Mountain has announced an extension of its ski season through June 7, following significant snowfall and cooler temperatures. The resort, which opened on November 20, has received 293 inches of snow this season, slightly more than last year's 286 inches. Recent weather conditions, including a 'May Gray' pattern, have brought additional snowfall and lower temperatures, prompting the decision to keep the resort open longer. Three chairlifts, including the Broadway Express, Face Lift Express, and Chair 23, will remain operational, along with over 25 hiking trails. However, no beginner terrain is currently available. The resort's elevation allows for a longer ski season compared to other Southern California resorts, which have already closed for the season.
