Volusia County Standoff Ends Peacefully After Man Surrenders to Deputies

The incident began when deputies responded to a well-being check at a home in Seville, where Mowery allegedly pointed a shotgun at a deputy. The situation escalated into a standoff, prompting a 'shelter in place' alert for nearby residents. The Volusia Sheriff's Office, along with several other agencies, managed the scene, which included deploying an armored vehicle and aerial support. Mowery was taken into custody without any injuries reported and faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
