US Army Tests AI Platform to Enhance Battlefield Decision-Making
The US Army is trialing an AI platform, COA-GPT, designed to accelerate battlefield planning by reducing decision-making times from days to seconds. Developed by the Army Research Laboratory, this system is part of Project Convergence Capstone 6, the Army's largest experimentation exercise at Fort Irwin, California. COA-GPT aims to integrate AI with human judgment to improve operational planning and adaptability. The platform is intended to enhance collaboration between soldiers and AI, providing a flexible framework for decision-making while maintaining human oversight.
