Katie Miller's Mental Health Claims About Liberal Women Questioned by Experts
Katie Miller, a conservative podcast host and former Trump administration official, recently made claims on Fox News regarding the mental health of liberal women, citing a statistic from the Pew Research Center. Miller suggested that 50% of liberal women have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder, using this to criticize a Democratic National Committee (DNC) content creator. The statistic, however, specifically refers to white liberal women aged 18 to 29 and does not broadly apply to all liberal women. Experts have pointed out that the statistic does not necessarily indicate poorer mental health but may reflect differences in healthcare access and willingness to seek help. The DNC's social media post, which sparked Miller's comments, was described by a psychotherapist as more of a political trolling than violent rhetoric.
