Sonya Tien's Journey from Independence at 14 to Founding a Bicoastal Law Firm
Sonya Tien, founder of Tien Law Firm, has built a successful personal injury law practice with offices in North Carolina and Southern California. Her journey began at the age of 14 when she became independent, working full-time while excelling academically. Tien earned 17 scholarships, graduated from UNC Chapel Hill's Business School, and Columbia Law School, and was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star for seven consecutive years. She initially trained in BigLaw in New York City before establishing her own firm in 2013. Tien's firm is known for its client-focused approach, emphasizing empathy and personalized service over volume-driven practices.
