Fatal Crush at Peru Soccer Stadium Injures Dozens
A tragic incident occurred at the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium in Lima, Peru, where a crush of fans resulted in at least one fatality and 60 injuries. The event took place during a rally for the Alianza Lima soccer team, ahead of their match against Universitario. Authorities reported that the influx of fans led to a chaotic situation in the south stands, with emergency services rescuing trapped individuals. Initial reports suggested a wall collapse, but this was later denied by both the police and the soccer club. Videos from the scene showed fireworks and injured individuals in the stands, while ambulances were seen outside the stadium.
