Australian Lithium Miner PLS Reports Increased Demand Amid Energy Security Concerns
Pilbara Minerals (PLS), an Australian lithium producer, has reported a significant increase in demand for lithium, driven by energy security concerns. CEO Dale Henderson highlighted that the demand is not only from traditional electric vehicle markets but also from stationary battery sectors and emerging e-mobility sources like electric trucks. The company nearly doubled its lithium production, surpassing analyst expectations, and reported a record production quarter. PLS is also planning to ramp up production at its Ngungaju plant and has secured a funding grant to support its operations.
