European Password Manager's Russian Ties Raise Security Concerns
A European password management service, Passwork, has come under scrutiny for its connections to a state-certified Russian firm. Investigations revealed that Passwork shares its origins and updates with a Russian company certified by the FSB and FSTEC, raising potential security concerns. Several clients, including government agencies and private companies, were unaware of these ties. The Irish government's Office of Public Works and Ireland's State Laboratory are reviewing the product for potential risks. Passwork's creator, a Russian national, claims that the company's structure has evolved, minimizing any functional impact of its Russian heritage.
