Ambience Healthcare Introduces AI Tool Chart Chat to Enhance Nursing Efficiency
Ambience Healthcare has launched Chart Chat, an innovative AI tool integrated with electronic health records (EHR) designed specifically for inpatient nurses. This tool allows nurses to ask questions about patient charts using plain language, with responses backed by full citations from physician notes, hospital policies, and lab results. The Cleveland Clinic is the first health system to pilot this program, aiding in the development of Ambience's nursing roadmap. Chart Chat aims to reduce the documentation burden on nurses, who reportedly spend 25% to 41% of their time on documentation, according to a study published in the National Library of Medicine. The tool is expected to improve care coordination and patient safety by freeing up nurses' time for bedside care.
