Spanish Government Boosts San Sebastián Film Festival with Significant Funding
The San Sebastián Film Festival is set to receive a substantial economic boost from Spain’s Ministry of Digital Transformation and Civil Service. This support aims to strengthen the festival's industry events, including the Creative Investors’ Conference, which is co-organized with CAA Media Finance. Under the terms of the agreement, the Ministry will become the sole sponsor of these industry events, providing a €500,000 ($580,000) grant. This funding will support the Creative Investors’ two-morning conference and the Conference on Leading the Audiovisual of the Future. Additionally, the prize for the best Spanish project at San Sebastián’s Zinemaldia Startup Challenge, a new tech pitching session, will increase to €30,000 ($34,800). This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Spanish government to reinforce the country's audiovisual infrastructure and attract investment.
