The official Instagram account for the Obama White House was compromised by a hacker, leading to the posting of unauthorized content. The hack involved the @obamawhitehouse account, which is the official Instagram page for the Obama administration. The hacker posted content claiming that the White House was under Shiite control, accompanied by an AI-generated image. Meta, the parent company of Instagram, confirmed the breach and stated that the account has since been secured, with all unauthorized content removed. The last legitimate post on the account was dated January 20, 2017, coinciding with President Trump's first inauguration.
