Erin Brockovich Launches AI Data Center Impact Map to Track Local Concerns
Activist Erin Brockovich has introduced a crowdsourced map to track the impact of AI data centers across the United States. The map, available on brockovichdatacenter.com, includes 33 operational, 44 under-construction, and 27 proposed hyperscale AI data centers. It invites community members to report local concerns such as energy consumption, water use, noise, and electronic waste. This initiative comes as major tech companies like Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI are heavily investing in AI infrastructure. The map aims to increase public awareness and provide a platform for communities to voice their concerns about the rapid expansion of AI data centers.
