Explosion at Dutch D66 Party Headquarters Leads to Arrest
An explosion occurred at the headquarters of the largest party in the Dutch parliament, D66, on Thursday evening. Local police reported that the explosion, which took place at the party office in the center of The Hague, resulted in no injuries. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident. Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten, who is also the leader of D66, stated that the explosion was caused by a bomb made of fireworks thrown through the letterbox of the building's front door. He described the act as a 'cowardly act of intimidation.' The D66 party, known for its centrist and pro-EU stance, won a surprise victory in the Netherlands' elections last year, defeating the far-right Freedom Party led by Geert Wilders.
